Solar PV Installation Haven Night Shelter

Sep 27, 2022 | Projects - PV installations

Haven Night Shelter based in Green Point, Cape Town has gone onto a grid-tied PV System. This Pure Photo Voltaic system is tied to the grid. This means that the system shuts down automatically when the grid goes down. Such systems are used primarily to lower the costs of electricity and substitute electricity consumption from the grid.

This was a charity project undertaken in early 2021 that was sponsored by the DUKKS Foundation and their partners. The Haven Night Shelter was founded with the goal of helping adults living in the streets find temporary shelter while trying to reintegrate them back into society. This project was set up to offset the costs of running the charity and freeing up funds to focus on reintegrating the homeless back into society.
